We offer speedy downhill skiing at the 30 slopes and 4 snow parks of Paljakka and Ukonhalla. It’s possible to try out downhill skiing outside of the slopes on the untouched powder snow, and the Snowpark has jumps and rails for the bold and seasoned skiers. You can also rent the needed equipment at Paljakka, and beginners can join the skiing school, where they will be provided with guidance for the slopes and skiing trails.
There are plenty of suitable and varying places for snowshoeing in the Paljakka area, and you can take off to a walking route straight from the rental shop. For example, try climbing on top of the Paljakka hill or a trip to Rakennusjärvi to grill sausages on open fire. There’s also over 100 kilometers of top condition skiing trails at your disposal. Part of them run through in the vicinity of the natural park amidst the glorious evergreen forests, where you can enjoy the silence and admire the winter beauty. There are great possibilities for ice fishing at the fishing park or surrounding lakes, without forgetting the amazing wilderness lake at the top of the hill. You can catch large perch, whitefish or even brook trout, or brown trout.
